Twenty-First Century Relaxation Music For Meditation

Relaxation music and meditation music, in several instances, are basically the same thing. Both can be used for meditation, relaxation, sleep and even as background music at a spa or during a yoga class. Hypno therapists also use different types of relaxation music or meditation music when working with their clients. There are so many more uses.

There are so many styles of relaxation music to choose from, and everyone has their own particular reason for choosing one style over another. Ultimately it comes down to what is most effective for helping one accomplish their goal of letting go of stress, and simply relaxing the mind from the daily stress of life.

While different types of relaxation music have more pronounced effectiveness than other types, nevertheless there is a specific type of relaxation music that stands out from the rest in the relaxation or meditation music genre. I am speaking about relaxation music that not includes soothing music or nature sounds, but brainwave altering binaural beats or isochronic tones as well.

Different states of mind are associated with difference frequencies. So by listening to isochronic tones or binaural beats (set at a certain frequency) your brainwaves will move into step with that frequency. The end result is that you will experience the benefits of that frequency range whether it be deeper relaxation, or an increase in energy, or even lucid dreaming and so on.

For example, the alpha brainwave frequency of 9 hz is a very relaxing state of mind similar to what we experience just before sleep. So if you listen to binaural beats or isochronic tones that are tuned into a 9 hz frequency your brainwaves will move to a steady 9 hz level. Meditation accomplishes the same thing, but takes much longer.

In a way this type of relaxation music is a twenty-first century form of meditation music because it accomplishes the same thing as meditation but in a fraction of the time. Even though it was around in the twentieth century it is only now beginning to gain wider recognition – slowly but surely. A lot can be written about how it all works, but the important thing is to just get into the habit of daily listening to relaxation music embedded with either isochronic tones or binaural beats, and then experience the results for yourself.

It is worth noting that binaural beats and isochronic tones without some kind of soothing music mixed in can be kind of dull to listen to (although some brainwave enthusiasts prefer plain binaural beats or isochronic tones rather than music backed versions.)

People also have different tastes in music, and it comes down to matter of personal preference. But when it comes to binaural beats and isochronic tones it is more about therapy – a complete mental makeover. It all ties in with training one’s brain, and improving one’s life, by regularly listening to cd’s or mp3′s embedded with binaural beats or isochronic tones. This is very similar to what regular meditation accomplishes, but much faster.
